80 stand-up comics. 4 cities. 5 minutes each. No backstories, no judges on stage—just pure stand-up. Gimme Five is the comedy competition that puts the spotlight where it belongs: on the comics and their jokes.

Gimme Five strips away the gimmicks and drama to focus on what really matters—great stand-up comedy. Across four major cities—Toronto, Vancouver, New York, and Los Angeles—80 comics compete with tight, five-minute sets in front of live audiences. Each episode features 10 comics, ensuring every set gets room to breathe.
Famous comedians serve as judges, but unlike other shows, they’re not part of the spectacle. They watch from home, evaluating performances behind the scenes and selecting their favourites quietly. Their picks won’t be announced in dramatic fashion—you’ll just have to keep watching to see who gets called back for a second set.
After the first eight episodes, the field narrows to 40 comics. Canadian comics head to Toronto. U.S. comics regroup in New York. In the semi-finals, each comic returns with a brand-new five-minute set, and the judges continue narrowing the field privately.
The final episode brings the top 10 comics—five Canadians, five Americans—to one stage. For the first time, the judges appear in person to crown the winners.
